The Wessex BFR-180 bale feeder is a modular system, and can be connected for a 2-in-1 feeding and bedding system! System is self-loading process, loading the BFR-180 is as simple as 1-2-3, using our proven self-loading system. The tractor or telehandler backs up and picks up the bale, with integrated spikes. It is then lifted on to the feed-bed. Once loaded the operator then drives the forks back into the feed unit. The machine is now ready to feed!
The Wessex BFR-180 can be equipped with several modules; Crossfire is an straw bedder attachement, Sidewinder is an extension conveyor. Both can be attached at the same time.

Wessex Crossfire
With the innovative Crossfire straw spreader attached, bedding and feeding
tasks can be undertaken with the same machine, bed from one side and
feed off the other.
The Wessex Crossfire straw spreader is unlike conventional straw choppers
as it spreads the straw in its baled length, with minimal dust and projectiles,
and up to ten metres. Straw choppers are renowned for creating excessive
dust, which in an enclosed environment can be a serious threat to the health
of the stock.
Chopping bedding straw also reduces its effective life span
within the bedding area.
