Description

In farming, timing is everything. You need to know when to act, when to harvest, in which order to harvest, when to store, which grains to select for feed, and when to trade. Grain quality data is key to making all of those decisions. With GrainSense, you know your grain. You can track your grain quality instantly, anywhere. You receive reliable data quickly, and you can store results in the cloud along with their GPS location– so you can make the right decisions to control your outputs. The GrainSense Analyzer is currently available in 3 different applications depending on where the analysis takes place; a hand-held unit for use in the field or really anywhere the analysis needs to be carried out, a flow analysis meter for combine or plant assembly with predetermined sampling intervals in a flow, as well as a desktop analysis equipment for use in a laboratory or control room. All applications have advanced NIR (Near Infrared) technology. You get reliable protein, moisture, oil and carbohydrate contents in seconds from just a few kernels. Know your grain, grow your business!

In grain farming, timing is crucial. To optimize harvesting, storage, feed use, and sales, detailed information about the crop's quality is required at every stage. In 2014, the technical research center VTT in Finland initiated a project that transformed laboratory equipment for NIR spectroscopy into a practical handheld format.

This gave birth to GrainSense as a spin-off from VTT at the end of 2014. Today, grain farmers, livestock breeders, silo operators, traders, and the food industry can quickly obtain accurate measurement results from GrainSense. This ensures that each crop is used for the right purpose, at the right price, and with optimal resource efficiency.
