Description

Boost efficiency and cut costs with BiG Pack 1290 HDP II XC
This large baler boasts a bale size of 120 x 90 cm and an adjustable bale length ranging from 1.00 to 3.20 meters. It delivers an impressive high density, offering up to 70% higher throughput or 25% greater density, all while maintaining an economical fuel consumption of less than one liter per ton of straw.

High-density bales reduce costs

The higher density contributes to a more climate-efficient production as there are fewer bales to collect in the field, more efficient road transport, and less storage space. With up to 30% higher pickup speed and increased field velocity, throughput can be boosted by up to 70%. As the material enters the bale chamber through the variable filling system, it's compacted into tight fractions within the bale. This technology enables a 25% higher bale density, and when combined with the V-twine knotter's 8 strings, the bale maintains its stable shape without necessarily increasing twine costs.

Let technology assist you in achieving top-notch forage management!

This machine has several smart features that make operation easier. If a jam occurs, the pickup automatically stops for safety reasons to reduce the risk of damage, and in the XCut system, there is a built-in protection for foreign objects to safeguard the cutting mechanism. Changing the blades is also made simple through a laterally extendable blade cassette. Additionally, the rotor's input fingers are coated with Hardox steel, reducing energy consumption and ensuring outstanding cutting quality, high capacity, and long lifespan.
Environmentally friendly choice with high-density bales!

Environmentally friendly choice with high-density bales!

Harvesting a crop that yields 4 tons of straw per hectare and producing 500 kg bales instead of 400 kg from a conventional large baler reduces the number of bales to be collected by two bales per hectare. Even though the machine uses higher-quality twine – KRONE recommends KRONE excellent HDP Strong² – twine costs decrease by up to 25% thanks to the higher bale density. The new and self-developed knotter combines the best of two worlds: reliable functionality from the double knotter, and no small pieces of twine residue are left in the field.

A machine with easy maintenance.

This machine is designed to minimize maintenance and cleaning efforts, saving both time and money. Despite its powerful performance, it consumes relatively little fuel per ton of pressed straw and the twine boxes offers plenty of storage for the long working days. This means you get a cost-effective solution that is not only powerful but also economically beneficial for your business.

Robust construction for long-lasting durability

A machine that is easy to maintain will last longer, but even better is when there are features that reduce maintenance. The EasyFlow pickup, without cam guidance and with fewer moving parts, reduces wear and the need for maintenance. The twine storage also includes rubber seals as standard to effectively keep dust and dirt away from the storage areas. Additionally, all BiG Pack large balers have adjustable machine sides for easy access, a central lubrication system, drive components with overload clutches instead of shear bolts, and a cleaning system for the knotter units with either compressed air or hydraulically driven fans.

Features

Maximum crop flow

With the Active pickup, you achieve maximum crop flow with five reliable and efficient rows of tines spaced at 55 mm intervals. The camless design is known for effectively clearing the field even under challenging conditions. With an impressive working width, it allows you to work at a high pace, resulting in a high hourly production rate. The Active pickup smoothly adapts to the field's contours with its pivoting support wheels and has a twine roller mounted on top that compresses large, tall swathes for efficient collection. The height is easily and quickly adjusted for different crops and conditions, and the two flexible wheels smoothly follow curves to ensure nothing is missed.

BiG Pack HDP II Large Square Baler

Do you have large volumes to bale and want to streamline the transportation of the bales? With the BiG Pack HDP II, you can now achieve even higher density in the bales, allowing you to produce bales with greater weight in a smaller size. On Fyn, Denmark, the company Halm 80 used to produce between 50,000 and 55,000 large square bales each year with 14 balers. Today, they have 6 BiG Pack balers from Krone instead and still bale the same amount, but with higher density, which has had a positive impact on profitability.

Consistent size and shape every time

For smoother handling and storage of bales, it is crucial that each bale is of the same size and shape. That's why all BiG Packs are equipped with technology that ensures a constant shape of the bales with each pressing. An electronic control for bale length is centrally mounted in the bottom of the bale chamber, and the operator can easily select the density from 0% to 100% via the control unit. Then, an intelligent pressure control system automatically adjusts the pressure in the bale chamber using two sensors that measure the force from the plunger. The bale chamber's design also ensures that each bale has smooth and neat edges.

Optimal cutting speed and quality

When it comes to maximizing cutting speed and improving the quality of your forage, XCut is the right choice. With impressive 20 mm wide Hardox plates, the cutting unit is designed to deliver outstanding cutting speed and a clean, scissor-like cut. Choose between using 16 or 26 knives, and the V-shaped arrangement ensures uniformly filled bales across the entire width.

Precise cutting for high-quality bales

Precise cutting for high-quality bales

The BiG Pack's cutting system XCut is designed to provide a scissor-like cut in straw, ensuring precise cutting lengths. The input fingers of the cutting rotor are 20 mm wide, and a scissor-like cut is achieved when the rotor fingers force the straw through the cutting system's knives with precision. This precision cut prevents straw stems from bending before cutting, which can result in uneven and longer cuts. The scissor-like cut contributes to producing straw bales with consistently high quality.

Integrated knife protection and easy replacements

The intelligent knife system consists of a smart knife cassette that can be easily lowered hydraulically and pulled out to either side for convenient and user-friendly replacements. To ensure smooth operation, all knives have individual spring-based protection. This means that if your machine picks up any unwanted objects, the knives will move back to their working position once the foreign object has passed. It's a technology that is not only simple but also efficient, helping to increase operational safety.

High bale density even at lower speeds

VFS (Variable Filling System) from KRONE helps create robust and heavy bales, even when working with small swaths and low working speeds. The material is fed into the feed channel of the pre-chamber where it is pre-compressed. Once the preset pressure is reached, it is lifted into the bale channel, forming a bale flake. In the chamber press, the bale fractions are compressed together by the piston., which strikes at 45 strokes per minute and gains extra power from the large flywheel. The PTO speed can be reduced to 800 revolutions per minute to make the piston strike 36 times per minute, creating robust bales even at lower speeds or with less material, while saving fuel. With an automatic overload clutch, the system ensures consistent maximum performance and evenly compressed bales.

Robust drive system

On Krone large balers, all power is transmitted through strong drive shafts, gearboxes, and overload protection, with no chains or shear bolts, which increases reliability. For the BiG Pack with XCut, a separate 4-groove poly V-belt is used to drive the pickup and cutting unit. It automatically shuts off in case of blockages to prevent damage and only starts when the press is in operation. It is also protected by a slip clutch at startup and activates an automatic shutdown clutch in case of overload for extra safety.

Smooth start and operation

Smooth start and operation

The large flywheel, weighing approximately 610 kg, absorbs loads and keeps the machine running smoothly with less power usage. The hydraulic motor accelerates the flywheel before engaging the tractor's PTO, and the intermediate gearbox reduces wear on the drive shaft while increasing PTO speed for maximum flywheel performance. All BiG Pack HDP II models feature a hydraulic start-assist system to ensure a smooth machine start.

Reliable knotting even in extreme conditions

With Krone PowerClean, included as standard on the BiG Pack 1290 HDP II, you can rest assured that the knotting is reliable even in the most extreme conditions. This air-based knotter cleaning ensures regular cleaning with a powerful flow of compressed air. Furthermore, the machine has twine boxes that are completely dustproof and that can be easily folded down hydraulically, and the side doors can be opened to provide easy access when refilling twine.
Reliable knotting even in extreme conditions

Perfect knots and no twine residues in the field

Producing high-density bales at high speeds with stable knots is a challenge. Krone and Rasspe have therefore developed a patented knotting system for BiG Pack HDP with eight compact V-double knotters that handle twine with minimal tension. The result is perfect knots even in high-density materials and high driving speeds, while leaving no twine residues in the field. Since BiG Pack HDP is a very powerful machine for producing high-density bales, it is recommended to use it in combination with Krone's HDP twine, which is extra strong and specially designed for this baler.

Reliable machines are your best friend!

Efficient storage for long workdays

This model features generous storage space with a capacity for up to 54 twine rolls, allowing ample twine supply in the field. The twine boxes can be easily lowered hydraulically from the operator's seat for convenient refilling and are also equipped with LED lighting to facilitate nighttime work. For those with a high volume of bales to press and want to avoid running out of twine, there is the option to add two extra twine boxes at the rear of the machine. These boxes provide space for either 12 twine rolls or 10 twine rolls and a toolbox (please note that this option is not available in combination with BaleCollect).
